THE ROLE: Our client is looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer /Technician for their operation based in Birmingham, West Midlands. The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all works carried out by him / her is carried out in a safe and efficient manner in line with recognized codes and practices Key responsibilities for the role: Electrical Maintenance Engineer/Technician-Birmingham, West Midlands • Provide input into various areas of the PSM process including, SIL, SCADA operations and Electrical and Mechanical Engineering support. • Provide input for process modifications and / or modifications of existing operation as required • Along with site management, act as a change agent for HSE culture and continuous improvement and role model for ensuring compliance with HSE policy and procedures. • Execute processes to identify and respond effectively to hazards in safety, health, security and environment, taking account of people, plant, community & procedures • Assist in the delivery of HSE capex improvement plans to drive continuous improvement and to ensure the site adheres to client's and national legal requirements • Drive continuous improvement to minimize plant downtime and reduce associated maintenance costs • Identify opportunities and make suggestions for improvements in production processes and design work, strategy of control, installations, equipment and working processes, installation and equipment • Undertake small project works to improve the operation of the site as requested by the Lead Maintenance Technician Key experience essential for the role: Electrical Maintenance Engineer/Technician-Birmingham, West Midlands • Experience in an Electrician/Electrical engineering role essential(Preferably being a time served electrical apprentice fully compliant with 17th Edition) • A good working knowledge of PLC's and SCADA systems ( like Allen Bradley and Wonderware systems) • Experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry in a similar role desirable • CompEX regulations highly desirable • Experience working in an engineering role in a COMAH chemical facility, which is regulated by both the HSE & EA. Desirable • Competence in Mechanical Engineering activities and will enhance existing skills through CPD activities and training courses as appropriate for this role • Willing to continue to progress and enhance qualifications and experience through Continuous Professional Development activities as required by the SRE • Ability to use IT tools including Office.
