YMCA Bedfordshire is committed to making a difference in the local area through the services it delivers and the partner organisations it works with. 37.5 hours per week | Based in Luton (with travel between our projects, which include Central, North and South Bedfordshire) The role will come with a car allowance of 1750 per annum. As Project Officer (Floating) you will work as part of the Housing Team to provide an efficient and effective service to clients aged 16-65. This is an exciting new opportunity to assist staff teams across all YMCA Bedfordshire supported accommodation projects, with location being dependent on particular service need to ensure efficient staffing ratios. You will assist respective Housing Managers / Senior Project Officers with day to day management, including maximising income & occupancy to meet targets within the specified area. You will work with each staff team to assess clients' suitability for YMCA Bedfordshire housing facilities and provide support to develop residents' ability to live independently and work towards successful resettlement. Due to the nature of the service this role carries a genuine occupational requirement for the vacancy to be filled by a female. Main Duties and Responsibilities Respond to the changing demands of the projects to ensure optimum staffing levels as directed by the line manager Support respective staff teams to achieve excellent occupancy figures and to maximise rental income Respond to general enquiries and assist in managing referrals. Assess the suitability of applicants referred to YMCA Bedfordshire using a range of needs and risk assessment tools. Encourage residents to take responsibility for their own lives through excellent, effective SMART objectives Support and guide residents to achieve targeted outcomes, ensuring tasks are carried out in a timely fashion. This can include application and receipt of benefits, sourcing training/education provisions, paying weekly personal rent, registering for additional services, keeping appointments, communicating, managing a crisis, developing independent living skills etc. Provide practical and emotional support, guidance and signposting to residents, during and in preparation for move on from YMCA Bedfordshire Be instrumental in promoting excellent safeguarding practices in conjunction with Local Authority Safeguarding Procedures and those of YMCA Bedfordshire; and ensure full understanding of what constitutes abuse within the safeguarding arena. Respond to, and record, incidents, major occurrences and complaints in accordance with agreed procedures. Maintain appropriate confidentiality with respect to individuals' records and personal information. Support the work of YMCA Bedfordshire, and be involved in developing policies and procedures, paperwork, training and publicity/marketing materials e.g. Newsletters, Residents Satisfaction Surveys, manage comments/complaints, etc. Contribute to the effectiveness of communication within YMCA Bedfordshire and attend meetings, case reviews and team meetings as required.
