Infrastructure within CMS IT Operations covering all areas of IT. Infrastructure to support business requirements, growth and process improvement and actively research, test and deliver to the business new technologies in the market including virtualisation and storage management. Continually strive to assist with planning and implementation of new accounts throughout the business providing SME support on Infrastructure tools and technologies. Scope of Role Support over 300 staff Support over 30 different applications across three different platforms. Extended network of production workers connected remotely across the globe. Exert cost controls within the local IS Budget Major Responsibilities Maintain, develop and expand the current IT. Infrastructure Implementing new systems as per business requirements. Monitoring current Systems in place thereby identifying bottle-necks/potential bottle-necks, and pre-empting failures that can put deadlines and business at risk. Provide a Systems Consultancy role to Xerox sales team in providing innovative and cost effective systems solutions. Maintaining and following backup/Disaster Recovery policies and procedures using various backup and restore solutions. Maintaining systems to minimise risks of virus attacks, intrusion and inappropriate use of the Managed Services network. Ensure data integrity and security and compliance with ISO 27001. Ensure Process/Quality compliance with ISO 9001. Background, Experience & Qualifications Will have post graduate experience in a system support role, having been involved in at least one major system deployment. Must have direct and demonstrable experience of at least two of the following, Windows Server/Client Admin, Unix Admin, Oracle/MS SQL DBA, VPN technology deployment, Network management, Anti-Virus technology deployment, Adobe applications support and Windows application support. Degree level in a Computer related science. Additional management and financial qualifications are advantageous. A complete understanding of Windows and UNIX computing environment in all aspects. A thorough understanding of Client Server technologies in both UNIX and Windows environments and the ability to architect system applications. A thorough knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft SQL and MySQL A thorough knowledge of Virtualisation including VMware vSphere and VMware View. A thorough knowledge of Storage Area Networks, in particular SANs offered by IBM and NetApp. Good knowledge of popular COTS packages and the maintenance methods used to support such products. A thorough knowledge of Networks. Excellent negotiation skills to liaise with suppliers. Communicating, knowledge sharing and working effectively within a well-motivated functional team. Documentation skills to ensure Systems Operating Procedures are maintained. Ability to work flexibly, in 'out of hours' operation mode to ensure updates and patches can be applied to Servers and network components without any interruption to production. A 'customer first' attitude to deal with customers at all times in a friendly and efficient manner. Ability to work is a process environment, delivering to schedules ever mindful of the customer. The nature of this position requires staff to occasionally work outside normal hours. Flexibility in the working day is essential in order to achieve the SLA. Language skills are an added bonus for a globally based business. Driving license essential.
