LOCATION: Astley, Greater Manchester JOB TITLE: Joiner SALARY: Dependent on experience BENEFITS: Pension, discretionary bonus, health cash plan and life cover - applicable after a qualifying period WORKING HOURS: 40 hours P/W - Mon - Thurs: 13.55 - 23.55 THE COMPANY: Our clients, a leading Manufacturer of MDF Mouldings established for over 50 years are looking for a motivated, hard-working and loyal individual to join the production team at Astley, Greater Manchester. The UK's leading manufacturer of MDF products with a site in Ireland and 3 sites across the UK Including Astley, Wales and London they are planning to expand further. They are now looking for a committed individual with the potential of progressing within the company and developing a career. THE ROLE: As a Joiner you will be based in Astley, Greater Manchester and work as part of a team responsible for production of MDF profiles. You will assist process workers and line leaders in setting of the lines and maintaining day to day process within the Manufacturing department. This position offers development opportunities. Key Responsibilities of the Joiner: Manufacture joinery work using tools, machinery and equipment provided Pre-order raw material from stock to fulfil orders Maintain quality monitoring of material received and produced Set machinery to meet product specification, maximising utilisation and minimising wastage Check manufactured product against orders, stack and label accurately Complete machinery maintenance and relevant documentation Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to H & S policies and procedures Ensure the retention of ISO9001 and ISO14001 adhering to continuous improvement Contribute to maintenance and improvement of H & S procedures THE CANDIDATE: As a Joiner you must be trustworthy, have good time keeping and attendance levels and be able to work within a team or as an individual. Previous experience within a manufacturing background is advantageous but not essential as full training will be given. Experienced candidates will have the opportunity to progress. Key experience essential for the Joiner role: Able to work independently or as part of a busy team Able to work on your own initiative Attention to detail Willingness to become a flexible member of a team by cross-training Desire to acquire skills to further enhance knowledge and progress within the role Carpentry skills not essential but could be advantageous Does this sound like you?
